Wow! We have been here for one week already. I can tell you that a lot has happened...and there have been times of stress, times that I wasn't sure how we were going to get everything finished, and many times when I was just plain exhausted. We are finally a little more settled. I have most of our clothes hung up and out of suitcases. So, I am feeling a little bit better about everything. Our belongings are supposed to arrive in the next couple of days.
Keely has not been feeling that well since we have gotten here, probably the weather. We left OK at 5:00am and it was probably already (or still) in the 80s, and when we arrived in Portland it was in the low 50s. So, her congestion could be because of the weather, getting used to a different time zone, not sleeping well, different allergens...your guess is as good as mine...oh yah, she's been chewing on everything, teething?
Tyson is behaving so much better this past week than the week we packed. I hardly spent any time with him the week that we packed the house up. Our friend Stephanie came over 3 or 4 days to help with him. Thanks Stephanie! He behaved so much better while he had someone's attention.
Tyson's still potty training. Well he is potty trained, he just chooses when he goes on the potty and when he goes in his diaper. Yesterday we went to Target and he got to pick out all sorts of fun rewards. We are trying this out and seeing that within the next couple days if he will go on the potty all the time. I am also going to put him in big boy underwear cold turkey next week.
(I have heard that that works much faster, especially for boys. I'll keep you posted.

What we have done...
...over the last few days, doesn't seem like much. But, the house is definitely emptying. Our truck arrived today, so Luke carried all the boxes that we had filled done to it.
We still have lots to do, but have a goal to have the truck mostly loaded by Sunday. Then on Monday...the cleaning (at least it is only an 800 sq ft apartment.
Tomorrow is Tyson's Birthday (3rd), so I will take a break while the kids are napping to make him a orange basketball cake. We are going bowling tomorrow night with him. So, I will update this perhaps tomorrow with birthday stuff.

Party in the Bathroom!?!
So, we are potty training. (If you don't want to read on that is fine!)
(I am speaking as if it were yesterday.) For the past two days, Tyson has not pooped. He has started several times and I get him to the potty and we sit on the potty for usually at least 10 minutes. But, he still hadn't gone. To put my frustration a little more into perspective, he probably sat on the potty at least 10 times..totaling probably at least 2 hours of time over the past two days. (He has gone before on the potty and for some reason the past two days, he would just not go. Why does it have to be such a fight?)
Last night one of our friends was over and I am so sorry she had to witness what she witnessed. (I guess I should also mentioned that we had tried bribing him with many things...including ice cream and cookies.) I was getting Keely ready for bed and Tyson was being disobedient so Luke had put him into his bedroom until he was ready to stop crying and ready to listen to us. As soon as he went in there I knew that he was going to poop. Well, he did. He was only in his bedroom for a few minutes.
I had just finised nursing Keely and was burping her...when...Tyson opened his door and said "Mama, look!" I knew immediately what he had done. He came around the corner, so excited with himself. In his hand was his pull-up full. Since I was holding Keely, Luke immediately took him to the bathroom. All Luke said was, "Tyson, we don't do that" (or something to that effect). Luke didn't even have anger or anything in his voice...and Tyson just melted. He was devestated. I think Tyson was so excited that he had finally gone and thought that we would be so pleased with him for going that when Luke said, "no" it hurt his feeling so bad. He cried the whole time Luke was cleaning him up.
I guess it could have been worse. He actually wasn't that messy.
Again...the joys of parenting.
Oh and about the "party" part...there had been many times where there were 3+ people in the bathroom while Tyson was trying to go. We would read books trying to get him to relax enough to go.

Her Belly
Keely loves her belly. Well I'm not sure if she loves her belly or if she is just so obsessed with pulling up her shirt or dress to put it in her mouth. (I love her belly though!:)) But, most days this is what we see. Our little girl is a little bit scandalous.
Some floor and belly time.
Enjoying the wonderful, warm weather. (It was 85 yesterday and it is currently 92.)
Getting ready for church.
